A Call to Women

Song of Songs 2:14 NIV

My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.

I believe this scripture is a call to women who have been silenced by insecurity and fear.  The Lord wants us to come out of hiding and find our voice.  We are worthy to be heard.  Jesus has made us worthy.

So many things work to keep us silent.  Rejection is a biggie for me.  I have suffered a lot of rejection in my life from many sources.  Some being the ones who should love me the most.  As I was spending time with the Lord this morning I realized I have been hiding.  If I hide I can't get hurt.  I can't be rejected if I don't put myself out there.

I don't want to waste this life.  This one life Jesus has given me to make a difference in this world.  If we are not making a difference we might as well not be here.

I love to LOVE.  I love people.  I love my God-gift of a husband.  I love my family and friends.  I love the woman sitting alone in a restaurant.  I love the child beside the road waiting on the school bus.  I love the police officer who works to protect me.  I love the first responder who is willing to put his life at risk to save someone else's life.  I love.  I love.  It's just what I do.

When my time on this earth is through, I hope people can say that I loved well.  I want to come out of hiding.  Put behind my insecurity and fear and LOVE WELL.  I want to be like Jesus and love with the Father's love - not counting the cost.

Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up.  And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.  We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.  Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame.  Now He is seated in the place of honor beside God's throne.

It's All in the Suit You Wear

My hubby and I binge-watched Arrow Tuesday night on Netflix.  This is our absolute favorite show.  We were down to 3 episodes for the season and just couldn't - didn't even wanna - stop.  So we didn't.  We were living on the edge!!  This show is full of super heroes who wear masks, jackets, empowering techno-gadgety suits, etc.  This drama keeps us on the edge of our seats (almost literally).

Yesterday morning as I was waking up I heard the Lord say "It's all in the suit you wear".  I'm immediately envisioning the suit I had seen the night before on Arrow.

The Suit

The Lord has been showing me that I am "in Christ".  That my rest is "in Christ".  It is not my works and futile efforts, my faith, my words - the only thing that matters is the suit that I wear.

Isaiah 61:10New King James Version (NKJV)

...,For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

He also told me Tuesday night "just stop trying".  That may not sound like God to you but it sure sounds like Him to this weary soul.  So, I have decided to just sit a while with Him.
So, please excuse me while I sit a while with Him all the while wearing my Robe of Righteousness.

Colossians 3:3New King James Version (NKJV)

For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Grace

Looking back over my life all I can see is grace,...  So going forward, I rest assured that I will continue on this grace path.  Even when I am faithless - my God is faithful.  Now, breathe,...

Silence is Golden

Sometimes silence is golden.  Today I woke up knowing I need to be quiet more and just listen - lean into Jesus and trust - and rest.  Oftentimes my words wear me out.

Luke 1: 19-20

19 The angel said to him, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.20 And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.”

The scripture above is written about Zechariah the priest who was the father of John the Baptist.  Sometimes, as in this instance, I believe our words get in the way of simply believing and trusting that what God has said and is saying is Truth.

Facts exist and cause our eyes to get off of Jesus and onto our circumstances.  The good news is Truth and trusting that Truth overrides facts.  Facts change but Truth never changes.

As Our Soul Prospers

As we read the Word of God, it is very important that we ask the Holy Spirit to bring us revelation knowledge.  The Lord began revealing this scripture to me a long time ago but it has taken time for me to truly grasp its meaning.

3 John 2 KJV

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as they soul prospereth.

Our soul is our mind, will and emotions.  We are made up of 3 parts - spirit, soul and body.  In the fashion of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  When we are born again, when we come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our spirits are instantly renewed.  At that time we still have the same mind and the same body.  Our body is our house.  The place our spirit dwells.  We have to find a connecting point to get what is from our spirit to our body.  That connecting point is our soul - our mind, will and emotions.  We must renew our mind with the Word of God and revelation from God.  Then, as we are truly connected to the spirit man which is made perfect by our relationship with Jesus Christ, we will begin to prosper and be in good health in every area of our lives.
